This is an alpha-level release. Do not use it in production.
XenForo 2.0.0 Developer Preview 9 is now available for testing.
Bug reports are slowing down at this stage, so while there is the ongoing task of triaging and squashing the remaining bugs, we have been primarily concentrating on adding another level of polish to the various systems. Here are some of the changes:
Admin Control Panel Navigation
The admin control panel navigation has been extensively reordered to make more logical groupings and has had some styling tweaks.
The front-end navigation has been slightly updated, too, and there is a new gadget in the top-right corner of the sticky navigation, providing an easy way to discover the newest content.
Consistent Block Footers
Wherever possible, block footers now include the 'Showing x of y items' phrase on the left, then any select-all controls and buttons on the right. This is consistent across the entire system. The 'Showing x of y items' system has also been enhanced to say 'Showing all items' and 'No items to display' when applicable.
Filter Controls
Filter controls for data lists now have a simple gadget to clear the filter, without having to select the text and delete it
Iconic Check Boxes and Radio Buttons
To free us from the constraints of operating-system-imposed styling, our checkboxes and radio buttons now use custom icons, in place of the default control styling.
Style Properties Indicate Customization
Style properties now more clearly state their customization state - customized, inherited or added.
Quick Thread / Quick Poll
The thread list now has a split 'New thread' button, allowing you to create a thread or a poll with a cut-down form in an overlay.
Responsive Feedback for Style Developers
To assist in styling with responsive widths, the footer now includes a dynamic output that updates to inform you what rules are currently being applied.
Installing the new release
As per the initial developer preview announcement, there are no upgrade options between developer previews. As such, our recommended course of action is a fresh install (in a new directory) or a re-installation (in the existing directory). If you are doing a reinstallation in this manner, you should pay attention to our specific reinstallation guidelines.
