Blockbench Goliath Beetle​

*Goliathus goliatus*

One of the biggest living insects, with males being bigger than females and reaching around 10 cm in length. From the genus *Goliathus*, this species can be identified by red elytra, that protect functional wings for flight.

Alongside other related species from this genus, it is closely related to Dung Beetles, but unlike them, it feeds mostly on the fruit diet or rotting plant matter.

Goliath Beetle can be found in certain tropical regions in Africa.
