Diver's armor bug?

Recently I invested into upgrading to diver's armor to farm sea lummies easier, since in theory this armor gives the ability to infinitely breath underwater. But once I stored it in my wardrobe this armor no longer says it has this ability and when putting it in practice it really doesn't give the ability. I've checked on wiki and in the bazaar and the armor still says it has the effect, but my own armor doesn't have it anymore. Does anyone know if it's meant to be this way or is it a bug...
