Dungeon/combat progression

What should I be focusing on to improve my combat stats and abilities within dungeons and the real game like slayers or even CI stuff if necessary. I know I need to focus on areas such as the rift and mining and just get a better overall account but I want to heavy focus combat because my main profile is around well rounded and I wanted to try something new, hard focusing dungeons.
