Emerald armor completely outclasses any other set outside of deep caverns.

"Oohoh but it is the true endgame set and require tons of grinding waaaahh"

So how about, instead, get this, hot potato books. Can be applied to any set. Provides a stat boost everywhere. A true endgame upgrade. And oh my god, suddenly we can actually use more than just emerald armor endgame. Golem, hardened diamond, leaflet, lapis, all able to compete with emerald.
