Greetings, BlackSpigot community and fellow game enthusiasts! We have a thrilling challenge for those skilled in Unity, Python, FusionFall, or reverse engineering. The FusionFall game, while already revived and playable, is still missing a key element: the ability to import animated models. We need your help to unlock this final piece of the puzzle and make FusionFall fully moddable, allowing the game to reach its true potential. Are you ready to embark on this exciting journey and contribute your expertise to enhance this beloved game?

Current Progress: FusionFall has been successfully revived using the OpenFusion server, and many fans are enjoying modded builds of the game. We have access to the original game assets, an open-source server, and UnityPackFF, a fork of UnityPack modified to work with the FusionFall header format. We can modify existing assets, import static models, add new missions, and more. However, we're still missing the crucial knowledge of importing animated models, which is essential for creating a fully moddable game.
The Challenge at Hand: The task is to find a way to import animated models into FusionFall, given the unique format of the game's bundles (Unity 2.5.5.bf) and the lack of direct compatibility with public versions of Unity. The FusionFall Retro team was able to import animated models by creating new asset bundles in Unity 2.6, changing headers and pointers, and using a hex editor to transfer files. However, this knowledge has been lost, and we're seeking someone to help us rediscover these techniques and bring animated models to FusionFall.
