Good beginner combat armor?

Hello! Throughout my Skyblock profile, combat is a skill that I haven't really focused on that much. I have a somewhat enchanted aote, but no armor/pets to increase my strength. With crits (44.88% chance) I get about 1000, without about 480. Any tips? Thanks!
