[HELP] My nether portal spawn won’t move no matter where I put it in the overworld?

Hi Everyone, so I put a nether portal down in my overworld and the spawn is directly in a pool of lava. I then took it down, moved it a far distance away in the overworld and when I went back through I was in the same area as before (see picture). So then I left that nether portal open (in the overworld) and built another one a far distance away from it and it still spawned me in the same place. What’s the best way to fix this? I die before I even spawn into the nether. Are there any items in Minecraft that would make the lava not do any damage to me while I could fix the portal?
