Hit a brickwall with Farming, what are my goals?

Started building up my garden yesterday, following a few Youtube guides, but the guides I have watched don't really go into depth what to do at the start.

One guide I watched assumed I started Hypixel with a 1b networth, telling me to unlock all these plots, buy all these pets, cookies, potions, hoes, armour, bro chill but I'm a brokie.

Currently have 4 plots unlocked, 1 for carrot, potatoe, wheat & a complete empty one down to bedrock.
