Hot take: People should stop talking about "balance" of "progression"

I see it everywhere that Elytra is somehow regarded as a fun killing tool that makes game uncreative and is too broken for games meta blabla. My answer to this is... what?

Whats uncreative about flying? "But people dont utilize expensive minecarts or barely faster horses"? The issue is with the other transportation options being weak, not Elytra being too strong. Allowing flight after beating the game makes sense and i mean... game never had a proper "progression" to begin with wich people keep throwing for some reason, its a sandbox game as its core gameplay, not like Terraria where there is clear progression. Minecraft simply doesnt have it. All sorts of challenges can be easily completed with low gear and even automated for further gain, it was never supposed to be challenging in the first place. This weird desire to make game harder doesnt make sense to me. It was never hard to begin with, pure difficulty of MC had only came from its suprises like creepers than actually losing a head on fight.

Thats why i dont get the group of people that wants mid game to be harder and endgame options like Elytra to be nerfed. Game was NEVER about progression in the first place! If it was you wouldnt have all these options to ignore all sorts of traditional progression as it simply wasnt the main goal. Im tired of this Elytra/Mid game hate that seems to be everywhere at this point.

And this ignores the main thing people do in this game. Mega auto farms, enormous structures and max enhanced gear serves no purpose in regards of this "progression" debate but serves alot of purpose when you factor in that the game is all about sandbox. Trying to limit how people aproach the game or what people can do in name of non existent forced meta that isnt the main focus isnt fun. If anything, thats the thing that kills creativity in the first place.

Im glad MC didnt dwell into meta balancing too much and let us retain all these movement and fast forwarding options. Its better to ask for content thats meant for endgame stuff or more explorable places than simply making it more annoying to play the game in name of "balance"

Well of this is my opinion obviously but i wanted to write this because i had seen these arguments everywhere and i simply dont like the idea of it. You can challenge yourself by not using them while forcing those ideas would simply make it unavoidably unfun to me
