Im gonna join a 5 player coop what should i do

the purpose of joining this coop is for making sure my friend in the coop wont be kicked (LIKE WHAT he was scared that the coop members would vote kick him but hes the best player in there so he want me to join so the vote will not pass)

but most likely he wont be kicked

so what should i do? dungeon rush? i plan to play mage, but i want to survive more so should i do tank? but then i wont be able to carry them

or should i troll them? (NO) or yes?
