As the Destiny franchise approaches nearly a decade of existence, enthusiasts have taken to crafting artistic interpretations of Destiny 2's Director screen, amalgamating all significant locations and narrative activities under a single banner. Over its 10-year journey toward "The Final Shape," the franchise has encountered both positive strides and challenges. Yet, developers have reassured the community that Destiny 2 will continue to forge new narratives even beyond its forthcoming expansion.

Unveiled in 2017, Destiny 2 acts as the sequel to its predecessor, extending the narrative threads left untied by the initial installment. Commencing with the Red Legion's assault on the Last City and the reawakening of the Traveler, Destiny 2's current storyline has expanded beyond the Solar system, delving millions of years into the past and involving a multitude of alien races beyond humanity. What began as an ominous fleet of pyramid-shaped vessels beyond the galaxy has evolved into the emergence of the Witness and their forces of Darkness, ushering in a galaxy-wide conflict pitting the Traveler against the Guardians of Light. The pivotal battle between Light and Darkness is set to culminate in the upcoming "The Final Shape" expansion.

The road leading to "The Final Shape" has been marked with challenges for the franchise. Across its numerous expansions and two full releases, Destiny has introduced various open-world destinations and patrol zones, each imbued with unique narrative significance. These locales find representation on the title screen, where players navigate their preferred activities via the Director. Players such as Bulgogibody on Reddit and QuintSays on Twitter have exercised their creative flair to reimagine custom versions of the Director page, showcasing the diverse destinations players have traversed over the years. While QuintSays' rendition, although almost three years old, lacks some of Destiny 2's recent additions, its craftsmanship has garnered community admiration.

Bulgogibody's interpretation, on the other hand, underscores the contentious concept of sunsetting in Destiny 2—a practice that removed older content from the game. This controversial decision eliminated substantial portions of content, including the Red War campaign, beloved seasonal activities, endgame Raids, and associated loot. Bungie has since reversed this decision and is progressively reintroducing older content with each passing season. Bulgogibody's depiction of the Director page accentuates the expanse of vanished content, encompassing activities such as The Reckoning and Gambit Prime.

These visual representations not only convey the immense scope of Destiny 2 but also highlight the expansion and evolution the franchise has undergone over the years, even as the Lightfall expansion might not meet all players' expectations. In consideration of "The Final Shape" and Bungie's envisioned future, the current Director page is poised to expand further, capturing the ongoing journey of Destiny 2 and the broader Destiny saga.
