Invaders is basically Capture The Flag with extra steps, so:
Phase I:
Gathering phase. You could theoretically go after other players here, but you both do such a pathetic amount of damage without the weapon upgrades that it isn't really worth it. If you can make it, try to focus on getting Support Rods (those are on the island with the wooden logs) and Unidentified Materials (those are in the little shack behind the slime spawner.)
