Is diamond spreading still good

I want to know if diamond spreading is still good or is there better alternatives. (Fly catchers are not affordable and also take too long to pay off) Is there anything better (that is reasonable) to put in the second upgrade slot. I have 12 sheep minions which i plan on upgrading to t11 and they have Elava Ehopper and Super comp 3000.
