Melon and Cropie Armors (Tiered Bonus perk)

hello guys so i got a question about the perk "Tiered Bonus" of melon, cropie, squash and fermento armor sets; i currently got 4/4 melon armor and grinding cropie on ironman and im asking what would happen if i for an example upgrade one of the pieces to the next tier like if i upgrade melon cp to cropie cp, would i still got the 4/4 tiered bonus perk active to get more cropie? or it would say 3/4 melon armor and i wouldn't be able to get anymore cropies? please i need help. thx very much
