my fps drops by a lot when in high screen resolutions.

my fps (for some reason) goes from 60 to 35 in fullscreen, and it goes to 20 in maximized mode, but if its in a smaller resolution, it goes to 57 - 60 fps just fine, would anyone know why this is happening? (for reference this started happening about 1/2 months ago, my pc was moved a bit and the thing that stores all the data got damaged, it was recovered and everything is fine, but since then my fps in fullscreen/high screen resolutions has been really low)
