What does the"Vip" rank stand for?

So I decided to take my daily leisurely stroll through BlackSpigotMC a few days ago and I discovered the "Vip" rank. I thought it was a obtainable rank upgrade but if that was the case, then it would have showed up in the rank upgrade section. Is this a special rank for BlackSpigot veterans or those who contributed to the site's development? Thanks.

It is indeed something given to people who have contributed to the site during its early stages. I have no full idea how some members are VIPs really since I haven't seen them contribute something to the forums or resources. But that's basically the idea of it.

Vip is given to members who we deem have done good for the community.
