What is Going On with the Dimensions of my 255x Plot?

Hypixel tells me that the dimensions of the max plot are 255x255x255. I measured that using coordinates, and confirmed that these are in fact the dimensions of the house (except vertically, I measured 254 blocks of height). I then gave myself four stacks of logs, went into survival mode while flying, and placed two stacks of logs in opposite directions to make sure that both lines were the exact same length.
