What would be the best armor on crimson isle ?

Hello I have a storm armor maxed for dungeon but it doesn't tank at all on crimson isle and I've tried aurora armor but I don't have ennough money to upgrade it a lot and I do know that you can upgrade it a lot more than 5 or 10 times but is there an other armor than that or should I just upgrade it untill it gets better ? I know about crimson armor too but I'd like to play a mage class. Please help.
