What's up with the map rotation?

I've been watching the solos/doubles map rotation as of lately and it seems that all of the maps that people actually like have been removed. For example: airshow, lighthouse, orchestra, rooftop, skyrise, speedway, playground have all been taken out of rotation as of yesterday. Your typical run-of-the-mill sweaty maps. All out of rotation.

It seems that a rotation happens every 2 weeks or so, which is not nearly enough. If i count the new maps (white firework stars) there are 12 new maps...
