Why do people say higher ping is better?

I'll never understand why some people think higher ping is better. It definitely isnt. As an Australian, I have 250+ ping constantly. its stupid how easy people can combo me simply of the ping. Most of the time when I get hit, people aren't even aiming at me, they're aiming at where I was a second ago. It makes pvp impossible for me, and it doesnt matter what server I go to because I always have the same ping. The point is, lower ping will always be better.
