Would a giant sword be a big leap in damage from the fellthorn + what else should i get?

I am wondering if a giant's sword would be a big leap in damage for me as I currently do 5m - 5.8m dmg in dungeons and I would like to do more. Also, what other upgrades could I buy in order to increase my dmg, survivability and usefulness in f6/7 dungeons? Thank you.
