Yeti Sword / Spirit Sceptre

Hi, im doing a lot of different progression stuff right now and im not going to focus on this, but i do plan on getting a yeti sword at some point (unless someone reccomends something else?) And I wanted to know that when i have the money, is it better to keep my spirit sceptre and use it to clear along with the yeti sword, or is there minimal difference if i were to just sell the sceptre and use only yeti sword?
