I sent 32 bots mining in the Nether, this is the resulting ore distribution after 24 hours of straight line mining

A bit of details for the collection:

  • bots were mining in a 2x1 tunnel, at different Y level. The level on the graphs is the head of the bot
  • they only mined visible blocks (no x-ray vision) and blocks exposed after mining another one
  • blocks collection was limited to 4.5 blocks distance (vanilla survival mining range) to bot hand from the center of the tunnel. Blocks further than this limit were not collected (even if visible)

Second graph is the detailed one for ancient debris only, as quantities are pretty low on the first bar chart. The big drop for all ores around Y=30 is due to the lava lakes. When below 30, the bots had to build dirt tunnels and dig through them instead of just running through netherrack. As a reference, the bot at Y=114 traveled ~183km during the 24h, while the one at Y=27 "only" ~82.5km.

Last image is the total collected blocks of each type by all the bots after the 24h.
