If someone kills a sea creature you fished up, do you still get bestiary for it?

Hinting towards Oasis fishing in particular, since tons of nons are just running around killing mobs. I like to fish up 50 at a time before killing them, so if I catch a sea creature and do not damage it, and someone comes along and kills it, will it still count towards my bestiary when killed?
